4 Essential Travel Beauty Tips

We’re heading into peak travel season with spring break around the corner, next is wedding season, and before you know it, summer will be here! That being said, travel can take its toll on our appearance. It can be stressful traveling, especially if you’re traveling with little ones in tow. Here are some tips to help keep you fresh so you have one less thing to fret about.

Hydrate and Moisturize

It’s important to stay hydrated while you travel. It can be hard because bathrooms aren’t always accessible or ideal. But dehydration will show up in your skin. Be sure to hydrate going into your trip, as well as, on your trip. Use a heavy duty moisturizer the night before and morning of your trip. This will help combat the harsh dehydrating effects of cabin pressure. Further, pack your favorite lip balm and apply liberally to keep your lips from drying out. Try to skip the heavy duty lipsticks and crayons as these will only dry your lips out further.

Travel with Your Beauty Products

All of your essentials for home should be going with you when you leave town. This can be tough if your beauty products don’t come in travel size. However, many products have travel size. And if not, your local drug store or grocer will carry the travel size bottles for you to pour into from your home stash. Fuel Salon and Spa carries many travel size options in your favorite products. We also have travel tools available.

Puffy Eye Syndrome

If your eyes puff up while out of town, grab a washcloth and add some ice and apply under your eyes. This will instantly wake up your tired eyes and make you look and feel better. Make sure you’re removing all eye make up at the end of the day and applying eye cream morning and night. This will help keep dark circles at bay. Additionally, pack your eye drops to help combat red and irritate eyes that can be caused by long periods of reading or screen time.

Rest is Best

It may be easier said than done, but do your best to get sleep while you’re traveling. This might be an easy goal to achieve if you’re headed to a resort or beach without work or children to take care of. However, many people struggle with sleep when they’re not at home. Also, if work has taken you on the road, your professional demands may keep you from getting proper sleep. Unfortunately, not getting enough sleep will definitely show on your face. So take naps if and when you can to try to make up for any lost sleep during the night.

Travel is a great hobby, but it can take its toll on us. Hopefully now you’re better equipped to enjoy being a globetrotter without sacrificing your beauty. We feel confident that with these 4 Essential Travel Beauty Tips, you will be able to enjoy your travels more!
