Hair Trends 2019: Part 1, Blunt Bobs

It’s fairly common knowledge that beauty and fashion trends are circular. Meaning, what goes around comes around. Things that were popular 30-40 years ago end up making a comeback. Case in point, neon, skinny jeans, high waisted jeans, and now, blunt bobs. Popular in the 70’s, the bob is a very statement haircut.

Celebrities like Chrissy Teigen and Kristen Bell are helping bring this beauty trend back. What’s fabulous about this haircut is that it fits with almost everyone’s face shape. The versatility of the haircut is in the length. Though typically between the ears and the nape of the neck, it can be cut to the length that is most flattering to the person. This blunt cut can also help thicken up thin hair and soften thick hair with specific styling techniques.

Upkeep

How do you keep up with the blunt bob once you’ve made the change? After shampooing and conditioning, be sure to use a decent size (golf ball or so) of styling mousse or cream, we prefer Kerastase. Either use a hair straightener to rock a smooth straight blunt bob, or bust our your curling iron for beachy waves. Both styles look great! This cut, does however, require some more upkeep in the salon. To keep up this blunt bob, you’re going to want to schedule with your stylist for every 3-6 weeks.
